Unwritten Scripts by Shannon Jae Ridout

This album was recorded in may or june of 2010 at gadgetbox studio in Santa Cruz, CA. I'd been playing and singing on my own for maybe 9 months. Nicholas and I hitched down there from Seattle and spent the summer there shortly before we were married. These songs are close to my soul and a recorded version of me stumbling to find my voice and how I wanted to express myself. I hope if nothing else, it gives one person the confidence to keep trying (or just have a quick little laugh) cause we all stumble a lot when we're learning and this process in life is continuous learning. This is humbling to share as it's been a decade since most of these songs were brought to life, yet they do hold a special place in my heart. My dear friend, Dan Acton, sent this to me a couple summers ago and I was quite surprised. I sold the last copy and didn't really look back aside from two songs that grew with me I guess. He's an amazing artist in his own right. A Panoramic View if anyone wants to check out his music, poetry or artwork. Finally, Visions of a Woman Gone.... by Nicholas Ridout... one of my favorite songs to ever come into existence. He sure had a way about him and although it's hard to listen to his music most the time, it is incredible, as he was. I'd like to thank that odd dude Frank in Santa Cruz who paid for this recording session and let me play his 1940's Martin I guess. You meet some strange folks busking and most of my closest friends I've met in a similar way. Frank was just odd though.
