our private label KOKUBU launched my new EP ”Inspired”.
It is available to audition and purchase on Bandcamp’s site.
2 tracks included in the EP are inspired by some field recordings during my trip in Europe last October.
“Waschmachine” is a challenge to reproduce a techno artists’ live performance with hard devices(rhythm machines, synthesizers, effectors or something like that)
The core of this tune is the sound of wash and dry machines sent to several effect devices on my DAW.
It was kept in my mind to describe the atmosphere in the east side of Berlin, a starkness and a coolness.
“Venetian Bell” comes from my sense of the strangeness when I heard the repeated sound of church’s bell that reminded me of the sound of a bell in Buddhist temple in my home country.
Then, the piazza in Venezia became a space connected to my nostalgic feeling.
As a western sound is the origin of the track, I tried to express an east-west commonality with some synths and guitars tuned like oriental harps.
