Lyrics
I once kissed a girl, she was pale as can be
and her lips were a deep ruby red.
Her hair was as black as night skies tend to be
as she lay on her cold marble bed
Her room was all dusty, and pitch black you see
for none had been there in a while.
But the passion between that fair maiden and me
drove me there in pursuit of her smile
I twice kissed a girl, and the second was cold,
emotionless, lacking in life
Her silence, it bit to the depths of my soul,
her indifference cut like a knife.
"Will you not speak to me?" I inquired her long
but needn't have bothered, I got no reply.
"After all that I've done for you?!" asked I with a pain in my heart
that brought tear to my eye.
And thrice I did kiss her, and thrice I was spurned
sent away without a word.
The maggots that nested in her pretty lips
laughed as her taxidermied cat purred.
When she died, she left me alone in this world
with her rotting, decaying shell.
But still, we make love every night,
my dearly departed Estelle.
