"After a brief period away, Simply Deep are set to make a very impactful return to releasing music alongside the distinctly unique sounds of Pro.tone. Through a collection of intricately designed techy originals and explosive remixes a fantastic EP has been assembled. We start off with ‘Remote’ which is a homage to futuristic tech music, incorporating a parade of breaksy drum patterns, stuttered vocal slices and electronic percussion. Next up we have the electro arpeggiators of ‘Point A’. This one is a groovy adventure, bouncing between lead percussive hits and metallic bass stabs. FInally we have the more funky arrangement of ‘Swipe’ which is a more spacious creation, focussing on swirling fluttery synths, sliced patois vocal segments and mystical melodies.

The first person to step out on remix duty is Simply Deep head honcho: Aerotonin with his vibrant overhaul of ‘Remote’. This mix takes a unique approach incorporating very unpredictable drum sections and weighty horns. Next up Kinsman arrives on the scene with a amazonian inspired recreation of ‘Point A’, reworking the percussive elements into a more tribal arrangement. The EP is then rounded up Plaza’s upbeat remix of ‘Swipe’. With this one everything moves quicker, expanding around the central percussive drive and grinding subs.

This is a fantastic second release of the year for the Simply Deep collective, incorporating a bag of new, innovative production ideals and themes whilst not straying too far from the brand’s genre specifics."
