Anna Liffey from Dragonfly Season by Man Go Be
Anna Liffey is a sobriquet for Ireland I sort of borrowed from the Shenachies, the story tellers of old Ireland who subversively educated the people about their own history during the times when a large portion of the population were banned by law from educating their children. Which penalty was enforced for some four hundred years. Anna Liffey would have been sung of in story songs representing the history of Ireland in the form of characters in stories. Anna Liffey would have been one of many sobriquets used for the actual people and land of Ireland.
The song came to me as a realization of one aspect of romantic relationships and speaks of it generally and specifically but seems to be a fairly commonplace and therefore recognizable point of unspoken communication between lovers.
