The storm has stopped it’s roaring
The birds above start soaring
The wind in the grass
Whispers of the past
It’s been seven years and counting
Just sitting on this mountain
And I never knew the
World could move that fast

I could see for miles and miles
But if I could only see that smile
The one I knew would
Brighten any day
She spent her days with antelope
She said “I really can’t elope
‘Coz dammit I’ve
already run away”

Well it’s been hazy in the distance
I’m amazed with it’s persistence
Some nights I’ll start a fire
Still dancing on that wire
Some days I’ll venture into town
Where there still ain’t that much around
But there’s always rooms for rent
And jobs for hire
