Oh these drifting thoughts and memories
Cast not in to the sea, but graven, incised for all to see
Carve my sins into the stone
Scar the lithic soul, that ever they shall be borne
By mountains in the sun, and chasms of the night
Spare me
The seismic weight of suffering, of envy and despair
To lift this weight from blackened soul, I carve and rip and tear
For relief I sculpt a fortress, a refuge carved of the earth
In relief you'll find me chiseled, a monolith of rebirth
