Julius by Smoking Grace

So a brief background on the making of the album. We recorded the album over the course of 9 months and used a variety of natural spaces to make the recording more unique. For example the drums were recorded in a chapel with the idea of using a natural reverb on the drums rather than a plug in or a piece of hardware to emulate it. Some of the backing vocals were done in reverberant stairwells and halls, and in keeping with using unique sounds on the record, one vocal line was recorded using an old home telephone rewired to make a lo-fi microphone. It was a real pleasure having this much creative freedom during the recording process. It was mixed and mastered by Oz Craggs of Hidden Track Studios (Mallory Knox, Hildamay) who is also the bassist of Feed The Rhino. He did an incredible job that we're really proud of.
