‘Human Geography’ is an experiment in generative music programming that examines the increasingly precarious relationship between humans and the built environment.

Recorded in Dublin city in 2018 against the backdrop of a seemingly inexorable housing crisis, the album explores the impact of neoliberal capitalism on a society’s ability to house itself. The collapse of public investment in social housing and the stranglehold of mercenary agents on the short-term rental market have combined to produce a housing economy that is inescapably hostile.

‘Human Geography’ investigates the tremors and psychic faultlines subsumed beneath the surface of the city and asks what does it mean for a society when the basic need for shelter is no longer guaranteed. Each of the four tracks comprise a series of algorithmically generated textures which are intercepted and attenuated before drifting gradually into chaos and disrepair.

"Human Geography" es un experimento de programación musical generativa que examina la relación cada vez más precaria entre los seres humanos y el entorno construido.

Grabado en la ciudad de Dublín en 2018 en el contexto de una crisis de vivienda aparentemente inexorable, el álbum explora el impacto del capitalismo neoliberal en la capacidad de una sociedad para alojarse. El colapso de la inversión pública en viviendas sociales y el estrangulamiento de los agentes mercenarios en el mercado de alquileres a corto plazo se han combinado para producir una economía de la vivienda ineludiblemente hostil.

"Human Geography" investiga los temblores y las fallas psíquicas subsumidas debajo de la superficie de la ciudad y pregunta qué significa para una sociedad cuando la necesidad básica de refugio ya no está garantizada. Cada una de las cuatro pistas comprende una serie de texturas generadas algorítmicamente que se interceptan y atenúan antes de derivar gradualmente hacia el caos y el deterioro.
