denver’s sunny, you’ll miss me

drivin slow to the airport

you were right there for

the first time i dared to share my mind



“you ever think about dying

at your own hand while you’re driving?

turn the wheel off the road…

is that weird?” you said “no,

Sometimes I think of your parents

and that time they prepared us

saying if one got sick,

they would rent out a stick

shift together and speed off a cliff and die



I thought about that this morning

if i should give you some warning
