Bad Coffee is a song that documents that moment in which you realize that your bad situation is one that you put yourself into. This is the first single from Spoken Nerd & Juan Cosby's collaborative album, GRAPES. Several of these songs were written in parks, in the car or in hotel rooms during the last Spoken Nerd tour before Covid in 2019. Bad Coffee was inspired by a cup of hotel "coffee" in Blue Island, IL that made Spoken Nerd question all of the decisions that led up to that moment. This song is an anthem for those of us who sacrifice personal comfort to our hopes and aspirations. Musically, it’s like a synthwave MC 900 Ft. Jesus / They Might Be Giants mashup. My cup runneth over.
