Evening whispers took on a mechanical rhythm the night we penned "Lamplighter's Calm." We'd been touring through Boston's historic gas-lit districts, where I spotted an old-timer tending to these beautiful brass fixtures as sunset painted the cobblestones. That quiet dedication—a man whose work brings light to darkness—haunted me for weeks.

The harmonica intro wasn't planned. Jebediah just started playing while staring out the window of our recording cabin, watching fireflies compete with the last daylight. It captured perfectly what we wanted—that transition when the world winds down but isn't quite asleep.
