Care is the second album from Pittsburgh-based Steve and the Millers. The intent behind this recording is to create space and support for all of us to pause, reflect, and take time to care deeply for ourselves and the world around us. To care is a solemn, sacred, and purposeful act that can be easy to overlook when swirling through the chaos of day-to-day. It is not about fixing or sweeping or lives under the rugs. It is an ongoing process of conscious creation and perspective on our experiences.

This album includes the soothing and transformative sounds of electronics, flutes, harp, hammered dulcimer, handpan, and percussion.

A note on some of the recordings:

On July 27, 2024, Steve and the Millers hosted a Sound Meditation Concert at the Mt. Lebanon Recreation Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Participants were encouraged to sit or lie down, be still, and be present with their inner self and with the music. Three of the tracks on this album, Unfold, Embrace, and Surrender, come from our live recording of that concert. These tracks include some of the ambient sounds of the room, the participants, and ourselves as the musicians. They also include the unintended notes, sound effects, bumps, and noises that emerged during the process of creation. We chose to keep those sounds as part of the musical product, honoring the space of healing that was created by all those who were present.

Founded in late 2022, we offer music for relaxation, exploration, and tranquility. Steve and the Millers includes the immersive sounds of electronics, harp, hammered dulcimer, flutes, percussion, and vocals. Our current lineup includes:
