s3xmoditmania II by stinkbug
From the beginning of October to around early November, kfaraday hosted a tournament known as S3XMODITMANIA, in which participants were given a pack of instrument samples and had five days to write a song in either .s3m, .xm, .mod, or .it tracker formats--hence, the name S3XMODITMANIA. Participants then voted on their favorite entries and the select portion of those who placed lowest were eliminated. This went on for five weeks. Over this time I had a blast writing my music and even though it was sometimes stressful, it felt good to get a new song out every week.
While I did end up making it to week five, my song was terribly unfinished primarily because I was just so burned out with schoolwork going on at the time. This is why there are only four songs here. The tracks are numbered in chronological order, where "Azure Creek" is my song from week one and "Snowfall at Twilight" is my song from week four. Each song was tracked in OpenMPT, in .IT format. I have done a little bit of post-production editing and track mastering for each of the songs, so they may sound a bit different from the original entries if you are in possession of those source files.
I hope you enjoy the songs as much as I enjoyed making them.
