Spizzy Commercial by Substantial

Substantial teams up with Spizzy (A black-owned smoothie shop based in Prince George's County, Maryland) to create a song that embodies their mission and vision "... to serve good food and good vibes to all who visit..." and "to provide those in the community a place to relax and recharge with others who strive to achieve their dreams."

Spizzy is owned by Sub's childhood friend and fellow educator, Brother Victorious. "The dream of opening a smoothie shop has lived in his heart for 10 years before he decided to make it happen. Substantial and his partner/wife own and operate a consulting and multimedia company, Substantial Art & Music (SAM). SAM is responsible for Spizzy's brand development including the design of their logo, menus, and more. SAM also worked with Roderick Bridges of HUMBLEMONARCH, LLC to film and direct Spizzy's commercial.

Spizzy's story is inspiring for many reasons, but working with them and watching them open their shop at the start of a global pandemic and thrive has been nothing short of amazing. On top of all that, Spizzy employs several of Brother Victorious's and Substantial's former students, including Isaiah Womack, who inspired the chorus for the song.
