The Danish indie-folk group SUNDAYS takes a leap into the cosmic realm with their latest single, 'Giant Formula.' This grandiose piece not only marks a pivotal moment in the band's evolution but also serves as a precursor to their long-awaited third album, aptly titled 'Giant Formula,' set to release on May 10th.


In the sonorous narrative crafted by SUNDAYS through the song 'Giant Formula,' the piece emerges as a symphonic exploration of existence, resonating across cosmic, structural, and personal realms. Thus, the title of the single encompasses the cosmic dance of atoms through the universe's infinity, the intricate navigation of societal norms, and the deeply personal journey of a new father conveying his story to the next generation.


The foundation of this musical tale rests upon the close collaboration between SUNDAYS and producer Asger Techau from the legendary Kashmir, who together, in the single 'Giant Formula,' reflect a strong portrayal of the band's artistic development. The song delves into the poignant theme of growing up with the world at one's feet yet feeling constrained by societal expectations and cultural norms. It paints a vivid picture of the struggle to find one's own path while dreaming of a life unfettered by the bonds of conformity. From their acoustic-oriented roots in the debut single 'Avalanche' from 2016, to the electrifying and pompous soundscape that characterizes the upcoming album, SUNDAYS embraces a musical metamorphosis reflecting the band's evolution over the years. Lead singer Magnus Jacobsen reflects: "'Giant Formula' is probably the song that has so far best characterized and encapsulated the sound of SUNDAYS, and I am proud of the message it carries as well. It wasn't until Morten (drums) pointed out that the word 'formula' also means baby formula that I understood how this song and the album are a kind of symbolic gift to my son, as it was written in the aftermath of his arrival in the world." 'Giant Formula' will be released on various streaming platforms on April 12th, and the album will be available on vinyl, CD, and streaming services on May 10th.
