Cuttin Capers by Sweet Lowdowns
Cuttin' Capers was recorded at the iconic Preston Records in Melbourne, 2007. Engineer Graeme Thomas captured both a unique old-time sound with his vintage equipment and also the live sound of the group: spontaneous, light and swinging. Cuttin' Capers was awarded the Bell Award for Best Classic Jazz Album, 2008. As well as popular Swing hits, it contains many tracks from the groups favourite, lesser-known repertoire and original song-writing by Liam and Michael.

Sweet Lowdowns are a classic jazz and swing band from Melbourne, Australia. Imagine Lester Young, and Billie Holiday travelling to Paris and jamming with a stripped down hot club-style rhythm section. Or Mildred Bailey sitting in with Edmond Hall; Charlie Christian on acoustic guitar.
The band's name refers to the Gershwin tune and the Woody Allen film of the same name, "Sweet and Lowdown"
