I wanted to write a song exploring our capacity as humans to love—to devote ourselves in a way so powerful that our emotions transcends the bounds of our physical reality, possessing us in its embrace for eternity.
Plus, I like horns.

It's such a powerful and captivating song that I was compelled to write a song from the perspective of the main character; not necessarily Mr. Johnson, but someone equally strong in his devotions.
