Having been deeply impressed by the talks with truck drivers about the events in the Middle East, Andreyev, at the time working on a series of pieces with the common title “Times of the Year”, writes Arab Spring. This piece, according to him, was created as follows. For many long years, a portrait of Saddam Hussein, the good and wise leader of the people of Iraq, hung on a wall in Andreyev’s room. Andreyev used the poster as a target to play darts. Once upon a time, overwhelmed by a sudden intuition, the composer took the portrait off the wall and drew a stave on the backside — and the holes left from darts games formed a melody.
The famous ensemble "The Fathers of Good Sounds" (Russian "Отцы Хороших Звуков") since olden days brings to the mankind afro-slavic rhythms of freak-n-roll music from Pskov region. Our music makes cactuses blossom, children dance and all the other beings smile. We like uneven rhythms and instrumental hooliganism.
