It’s early morning
Another day
It’s time to brush my teeth, get dressed, and make my bed
There’s breakfast on the table
Pancakes, bacon, and eggs

The sun is shining
I tie my shoes
I grab my backpack and lunchbox
It’s time to go to school
There's so much for me to learn from my teachers and friends too.

I remember how we learned to read and write
I remember how we learned -wrong from right
And how we couldn’t wait for music class to start

I remember all the friends I made
I remember the teacher’s I had in each grade
And all the wonderful things we made in art

Another day
A google or zoom meet is how I start my day
It’s how my day begins now
Because there’s no other way

I remember how we learned to add and subtract
I remember all the things we learned in math
In social studies, we learned that we’re a global community

I remember when we learned about earth and mars
I remember how we learned that the sun is a star
In Phys. ed we’d play games to help us stay healthy
