She said, "Call me Sadie!" I said "Yes, Ma'am."
"I eat my bacon with a side of ham. Now take my luggage to the 13th floor, I'm gonna frisk your whiskers and peek in your drawers."
I had to plead with Sadie, I had to say "No! I don't think it's something my wife would condone. So never mind your bacon, never mind your ham. She cooks me biscuits and gravy, she loves this old man."
But Sadie begged to differ, she said, "Wait'll you eat my ham. I cook the best piece of pork this side of the Rio Grande. So never mind your biscuit, and never your love. You'll meet me on the 13th floor if you know whats good for ya!"
I had to think it over, I don't think she wants love. Maybe just a kiss or a friendly little hug, but I'd never do that to the woman I love who cooks me biscuits and gravy and loves me all up.
Sadie grew impatient, she said, "I don't understand, I won't take 'no' for an answer from some measly little man. You'll come to regret the day you didn't eat my ham or the day I offered to take you to the promised land!"
"Sadie my dear, you sure know how to flatter a man and I'd love for you to take me to your promised land. But many men have gone and none of 'em come back to the biscuits and gravy. I don't think i could live without that!"
Sadie said, "Baby, you're a better man than I. Take care of your lady I hope she's worth the price. Now the offer's on the table, and if you wanna little fun...you'll meet me on the 13th floor if you know whats good for ya!" " How am I supposed to get some sleep tonight. Just want you for your company, maybe tuck me in tight!"
"Oh, but Sadie my dear you done said that before. I'll help you with your bags then I'm out the door cause my baby's waiting patiently and I'm sure she's got the biscuits and gravy gonna eat me some more."
But Sadie spoke softly, she said "Where do you get the nerve? I've been to many a hotel and I have never in the world seen service like this to a pretty little girl who wants to cook you bacon and make your toes curl."
