Back in the 1990s I worked with The Disciples on a number of projects. There were the two Dayjah albums that I co-produced. Then we directly collaborated for the album Rebirth. A lesser-known release from that time was the album Distant Voices where we used the name Pachakuti (you can find this album on my bandcamp). We worked on a few more Pachakuti tracks but they are still unreleased as yet.

Anyway, there was a short period in the late 1990s where there were some really interesting rhythms on the version sides of Jamaican 45s. They weren't the type of tunes that roots and dub selectors were going for but Russ and myself were really into them. Particular examples were Roundhead's Forward Ever Backward Never killer and the rhythm to Beenie Man's Who Am I which became a massive mainstream hit. Most others though were appearing on labels like Priceless and Scare Dem. Both Russ and myself were playing out these version sides extensively at this time. When we next reconvened at my studio we put together these tracks that make up this album Future Juggling. It was a nod to what was happening in Jamaican dancehall at that time. Recorded in 1998 as far as I can recall and never released until now!
