Prairies EP by The Sandhills
The "Prairies" EP captures a period in late 2024 when The Sandhills collaborated with Darwin violinist Ania Tait. With many songs already tracked and mixed for what would be the next Sandhills album, Ania offered to improvise with/against some of the folkier tracks. Ania's performance inspired the writing of three other folk songs, so The Sandhills have postponed work on their 2nd album and are instead releasing the EP "Prairies" on March 1, 2025.
These five songs extend the Sandhills journey into folk music and tip the hat to some of their acoustic guitar heroes: Nick Drake, Neil Young, Steve Gunn and William Tyler.
