I thought I had the world in my arms
But when the world moaned at me
The thought lost all of it’s charms
So I waved farewell and I clicked my heels
And I danced through the night
And I ran through the fields

So if the rain falls down on top of my head
It makes me think that summer doesn’t like me
And if the sun shines bright on the white-washed walls
It makes me think of Spanish guitars

The nights made me laugh and the fields made me sing
And I followed an angel and expected heavenly things
She ran beneath the trees and she ran through my hair
But when the fruit's ripe enough
I suddenly decide that I had my fair share

I thought I had a dream that came real
But when the dream slapped my wrists
The thought lost all of it’s appeal
So like a river to the sea – like a flower tempts a bumble-bee
I’ve gone back to my world where I think forever I’ll be
