behold, dreamers, the city of transfiguration.
it is not always so:
it holds transfiguration like a potential,
like a promise
mumbled by swirling galaxies on the surface of the restless river,
engraved in hieroglyphics of cedar bark.
it asks that we might also dance with it
beneath a wedding-crown of bitter oranges.
only at that juncture may we reveal ourselves;
only then will our shining faces pierce the shroud of our silent dreams,
trembling like a clinging leaf against the boundless winter sky
of the purple city.
