The Uncivil Society - Mutual Aid
The Uncivil Society in conjunction with Suburban Utopia Projects, presents their fourteenth project “Mutual Aid”. Based on Peter Kropotkin's theory of Mutual Aid he synthesizes collectivism and individualism by creating groups based on voluntary association. This concept is arguably as ancient as human culture: an intrinsic part of the small, communal societies universal to humanity's ancient past. From the dawn of humanity, until far beyond the invention of agriculture, humans were foragers, exchanging labor and resources for the benefit of groups and individuals alike.
In the wake of the global pandemic, democracies across the globe are turning to emergency proclamations, abrupt lockdowns and enhanced public surveillance to exert a nexus of control. Now more than ever we need to work collectively to keep our autonomy in tact.
The Sonic templates Anon73 explores the evolution of inspirational bands and ponders what is means to grow and change. On this project, he strives to play the fast songs slow and the fast songs slow or as Mike Watt would say “Little songs, high end guitar, melodic bass and lots of toms”.
