Cover Charge by The Union Electric

On Cover Charge, The Union Electric steps back from original music to pay homage to some of their favorite musicians. From Woody Guthrie to PJ Harvey, this collection of five songs encompasses many of the band's influences. The band also used this project as a chance to move beyond normal roles, with bassist Melinda Cooper taking over lead vocals for a song and guitarist Glenn Burleigh spending more time on keyboards and pedal steel. This EP is intended to be a free download and the band is not accepting payment. If you like the songs, please check out the original versions and other music by The Union Electric.

The Union Electric is made up of veteran St. Louis musicians Tim Rakel, Glenn Burleigh, Melinda Cooper and Mic Boshans. Depending on the date/time/weather, Beth Bombara, Jake DeLeonardis, Mary DeLeonardis and/or Brad Vaughn may also make intermittent appearances in the line-up.

UE has released five 7" records, an EP of cover songs, and the CD "Time Is Gold".
