AMATEUR SCRATCHLAND by DJ THUNDERXOX

I've loved SCRATCHING..sound manipulation..the hip hop rap DJ Cutting Scratching phenomenon since I was a young dude back in the day..when it was on the local DJ MiX shows..and DJS would do long live or prerecorded sets...mashing up..mixing up all kinds of rap, hip hop, electro songs..with cutting and scratching skills that BLEW MY MIND... I tried some of the on my dads vinyl..and is Technic 12...but..it wasn't at all the same. Ruined a record or 2. Got in trouble..too.. Stopped ASAP. Followed the route of the guitar instead.
I've always loved Turntables..Scratching...sound manipulation on the 12s..cdrs..in general. Whisper scratching to myself many of times...It just I my mind works. Having the idea in your head and getting it out..are 2 different things indeed.
For some ..it's faster and easier than for others..to get it...out..
I've never had the gear and time to do it.
I was ..and am an ok guitarist...pianist..bassist, singer, rapper..
and hopefully Scratch DJ at some point..
Good enough to do and create the music I love without relying on others..since most others are busy or not interested.

So..this Amateur disaster piece of Scratchland..a nightmare and a dream all in one.
Call it Amateur..Abtract Scratch..You gotta start somewhere. It could be worse for a newbie with 0 time on the decks in 12 years..after only have a few months to rock the decks in 2011. I totally was horrible in 2003 2004... 3rd times a Charm...HOPEFULLY!

So..Some of these Scratch disasters were also done using the Numark DJ2GO Touch..as I had it the first night Sept 17th, 2023..til I sent it back the next day to order the Hercules Inpulse 500..which to me ROCKS much better in my fat hands...
So..As of 9212023 DJ THUNDERXOX is the new Fresh Def Crew DJ.
An amateur is better than nothing at this point. Just got the
Hercules Inpulse 500 couple days ago and been doing practice sessions to get a good feel..to hopefully move forward on Fresh Def Crew old and new tracks. But first..the ultimate practice...raw sessions..recordings, creating, experiments..the Good, Awful and the real bad!
Here it is, DJ ThunderXoX's first experimental Scratch Album...
as a newbie..to document his rough and raw DJ journey.

He got a CDJ back in 2003-2004..between playing keys and guitar, the CDJ DJ experiment failed within a short time. Stunk, stinky, no luck on that so he packed it up and sold it as he fizzled out..got nowhere. Stuck with keys and guitar and some singing, rapping, home recording learnings..and some bass guitar.

2011...via his WAHHH! duo project..he fell into another opportunity as the duo's other got them a Numark basic Battle Budget mixer, Denon DN5500 and a Numark basic CDJ set up. For 3 months he got to produce, record and DJ...That short time was much more successful. Raw..but with loads more potential, picking it up faster and better in a more useable sense. Things soon fell apart for the duo. The end came sooner than later. He was able to DJ experiment with a local rap duo
Lost Evolutionaries for one song. Taking their vocal wavs and track and adding some other flavor and cuts to it. That didn't work out either. Within a few months or so, the gear was gone. No more DJ opportunities until, 2023, Sept 19th ish...When the digital DJ controller was sought and discovered. The CDJ GO 2 Touch by Numark was purchased to see if it would work. Too small for the fat fingers of ThunderXoX. The goal has been..FIND A DJ for Fresh Def Crew for a while. After contacting about 50 ish DJs in the area an via social media...and getting rejected, the boredom of using scratch loops in songs..was wearing him thin. He wanted an option..an affordable option to bring some scratch power in..real and authentic.
The DJ Go 2 was ok. Had it 1 night..noticed some issues..reasons to send it back and look into a bigger platter size..more control..better unit that was a bit more in price but not a dream unit..like the T7 or Rev7 and etc.
Geno was in on it..a true supportive amigo! He assisted with the shortage of funds to get that Hercules Inpulse 500..making up the difference and allowing it to happen asap. 1 day after DJ Go 2 went back..no DJ gear. Then..the next day it arrived. Late that night..it was an experimental overflow of excited fun!
Still an Amateur...going on his 3rd time as a Scratch DJ..
This time..it might actually stick!
You gotta start somewhere.
Raw experiments..practice sessions..recordings, tweaks..is the best way to learn..doing it ..not just thinking it.
Prepping in this manner to be able and ready to jump on the
Fresh Def Crew future tracks..that are gonna stack up after this little ..rest time...for DJ growth.
Yep...after 12 yrs...non DJ time..after just a few months back then..being ok at it..this time..there is even more promise and potential. Nothing like the gazillions of other better more known Cut Master Scratch Masters out there..from the legends to the current stars..that come in all ages, sizes and styles.

is more of a simple..creative..do it for the song DJ..
allowed to go off in a most odd manner on this here EP of firsts..
experimental etcs and on and on.

Hell..it's all been done..
Just not by him...or like him..

I enjoy creating..sharing and inspiring others.
If I can do it..YOU CAN DO IT.
Not to be the GREATEST..unless that's your big Goal in life..
But to just be able to do it for YOU..
it's all been done..as I've stated this before..and many others have as well..Everything has been done...Just not By YOU..ME..US willing to still do it..knowing that there are tons of others better..much better..
it's the joy of knowing that it's by you..for you..your way..
influences inspirations creative energies and all.
It's all been done..just not like. you..by you..for you.

Bit some Toccata and Fugue cause classical is dope..
Plus a Halloween cd for the narrator ..didnt' scratch well. But I made it work..it was late and I was falling out..flawed..but fun.
