THUNDERCHILD by Tom John Hall
THUNDERCHILD is a solarpunk concept album set in the not too distant tomorrow. The album follows starcrossed best friends Panjy, an eco-anarchist on the surface of a dwindling Earth, and Bo, a research scientist stranded on a distant moon, in a story of messages intercepted in the void.
The album's 9 tracks switch perspectives in messages intercepted in deep space following Bo's unceremonious exit on the maiden voyage of the THUNDERCHILD. After an unsanctioned solo expedition and an unforseen cosmic event conspire to leave them abandoned alone on the fledgling human colony, they must adjust to their lonely fate.
Meanwhile, back on Earth, Panji must manage the fall out from this string of unlikely events, finding the strength to return to life and adjust to the political fallout of THUNERCHILD's failure, finding in the aftermath a new vision for a more just future.
