Trendafilka (demo) by Trendafilka
Started in March of 2016, Trendafilka is an exploration of polyphony. Ten voices perform three, four, and five part songs from Bulgaria, Georgia, Ukraine, and the Roma diaspora with their own unique aesthetic and arrangements. Based in New Orleans, LA, Trendafilka performs regularly for a wide variety of audiences, both as a standalone act as well as in collaboration with regional and national artists.

Trendafilka is a modern exploration of European polyphonic traditions. In their songs, dissonances and harmonies weave and swell throughout each song as common human themes are explored: love, loss, humor, and magic. Shifting between styles with ease, the singers work to blend their unique voices into one unified sound, creating a musical tapestry greater than the sum of its original parts.
