Decades (Album) by Tristan Eckerson

Decades, the latest album by composer, producer, and pianist Tristan Eckerson, will release February 7th, 2020.

With "Decades" Tristan wanted to create a set of songs that would stand alone as compositions in their own right and have some form of forward momentum, while also keeping to a very minimal, almost conceptual aesthetic. Tristan's biggest inspiration for this concept was Philip Glass and Ryuichi Sakamoto. About the creation of the album, Tristan says:

"I was aiming for the simultaneous ultra simplicity and profound impact that I find particularly in the solo piano works of Philip Glass and Ryuichi Sakamoto. And I wanted to use a production style that was more modern and brought an extra element and depth to the recordings, in terms of hearing the workings of the piano, atmosphere, etc."

Tristan wrote, performed, recorded, mixed, and mastered the album, and will release it independently, as he did with his last album "Trozo Revisited", which was released October 18th and to date has been streamed over 4 million times. The cover photo is from Iranian photographer Taimaz Ashtari.

Tristan Eckerson is an American Pianist, Composer, and Producer, currently based in Santa Marta, Colombia. Tristan has toured as a solo pianist throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, and has released albums with labels such as 1631 Recordings, A Remarkable Idea, Sonder House, Mellotron Records, and 7K!
