Tropical Death's debut EP showcases the band’s approach of creating intelligent, accessible music that combines melody with moments of discord and rhythmical complexity. Tropical Death draw on influences such as Fugazi, Q and Not U, and Cloud Nothings, as well as the members' own backgrounds in Tokyo post-rock, indie and art-punk bands such as Henrytennis and The Mornings.
東京を拠点に活動するポストハードコアバンド、Tropical Deathのデビュー作EP。ex-the mornings/henrytennis/LOOPRIDERなどでも活動する多国籍のメンバーが集結して作られた今回のアルバムは、生まれも育ちも違いながら、同じ音楽に影響を受けた彼らのエッセンスをふんだんに散りばめた作品となっている。
FugaziやQ and Not Uなどのプリミティブ＆ダンサブルなDischord直系の硬質サウンドを彼らなりの解釈でトロピカルに仕上げた前半は、自然と身体が動き出すようなディスコ・ハードコア。後半ではスローダウンしていきつつも、2000年代以降のUSローファイを感じさせるラフでナイーブな「泣きメロ」インディーロックで魅せる。
メロディと不協和音、リズムが融合した本作は、ディスコパンクファンからオルタナファンまでを鷲掴みにすることまちがいなし！

2014年に結成。東京・中央線沿線を拠点に活動する。ポストハードコア、サーフロック、ディスコパンク等を独自の解釈で奏でる４ピースロックバンド。日本人２名とアメリカ人２名のメンバーが生み出すサウンドは、そこはかとなくトロピカルで良き古き90年台のUSインディーの空気を醸し出す。
作曲とギターボーカルを主担当とするEugene Roussinを筆頭に、ベース中川真吾(the mornings, Han Han Art)、ギター茂木貴史(Han Han Art)、ドラムSean McGee(SHARKK, LOOPRIDER)としても活動している。
