So . . . four out of seven people agree that music ‘happens’ through fusion of a number of basic elements commonly labeled as, pitch/harmony/key, tempo/rhythm, loudness/timbre, and my two favourites, reverberation/spatial location.

Not that there is any clamour (or need), to break down and analyze further; for art’s sake, I will.

Music evokes . . .

I submit that there can be additional elements present, though maybe not featured, in all pieces of music. I experience Texture, Colour, Energy, and often Emotion - these components, along with the rest of the 'ingredients’ referenced, exist beyond the single sense of hearing, in the conscious mind of the beholder.
