“When the maggot brain is full-grown, it can crawl up to 50 feet to a dry, cool place near breeding material and transform to the pup stage.
The pup stage, about 6 min long, is passed in a pup case formed from the last larval skin which varies in color from yellow, red, brown, to black as the pup ages. The shape of the pupa is quite different from the larva, therefore changing its environment in chromatic increments. This fundamental modulation forces the pup to actuate spontaneously- an improvisational dance derived from cellular reorganization, with roots in set theory and hexachordal combinatoriality. This is not confined within the serialist framework, rather, actualized through a minimalist approach.”

Vestments is a New York City goth band for the 21st century. A Frankenstein's monster of dark pop melodies, skronky sax, layered synths and languorous violin underpinned with the pathos of country twang and the raw energy of downtown NYC punk, Vestments sounds like if the Bad Seeds and Liars were the house band in a future noir juke joint.
