(VP17) Collages by Echolalia
Two audio collages to accompany a series of mixed media artworks.
SM58 was recorded in my kitchen using the microphone of the same name to capture all sounds. It centres on the idea that life is a busy sound collage, full of noises we have learned to filter out and ignore. We hope for a quiet life but the true beauty of life is found in the midst of the noise.
Edu-punk was originally released by one of my previous projects, Dandandanceoff, and is a collage of sound clips recorded from toys owned by my children E.K.E. & M.I.M.E. It was an experiment in making something fun and chaotic out of the hectic noise they make on a daily basis.
