Landscapes by Volker Lankow
Ambient music and landscapes have a very complementary relationship that addresses both the emotional and sensory aspects of our experience of nature. Ambient music, by definition, is about creating an atmospheric sound environment rather than melody or rhythm in the traditional sense. It aims to evoke a feeling or mood in a way that reflects the stillness, expansiveness or dynamics of landscape.
The philosophy of ambient music for landscapes is rooted in the idea that sound can deepen our connection to place—not by dominating the experience, but by enhancing it through subtlety, atmosphere, and presence.

Percussionist since the late seventies, Volker Lankow lives in Berlin, plays and collaborates in many diverse projects, such as together with Bernhard Wöstheinrich, David Rothenberg, to name a few.
Volker works on many Solo projects, using mainly electronics and as well percussions, to develop his own vison of experimental sounds, drones and as well world music.
