Ian: There is no Christmas song more well-known than this one. This ingenious melody has already been interpreted countless times. Does the world really need another version? Of course not, but who cares…Even when Christmas Eve is quiet, and you sit or lie in silence, joyous anticipation can keep thoughts bouncing around (particularly as a child). These were my thoughts which led to these rather jazzy variations for guitar and violin.
