Desert Eagles are an explosive musical collective from the Barkly community of Ali Curung – a melting pot of 4 tribes and the musical heartland for Walpiri, Alyawarra, Warumungu and Kaytetye peoples. Like a tornado the band are an explosion of rhythm, sound and energy and have been captivating live audiences across Central Australia with their latest batch of party shaking tracks. As rumours of this latest recording slowly seep across the sand, the desert nations of Central Australia have come alive with a thirst for the new recordings of the Ali Curung supergroup. Recorded at the Winanjjikari Music Centre in Tennant Creek, The Desert Eagles take off like a rocket on the back of the opening track - ‘Alywarra Woman’ – A dance floor filling anthem that has been sending Central Australian audiences wild from the first notes of its anthemic intro. The album continues on to explore and pay tribute to country, language and people. As the music arm of Barkly Regional Arts, Winanjjikari Music Centre (WMC) has made a significant contribution to the music story of the Barkly. WMC promotes access, development, and recognition of the arts by delivering programming across learning, rehearsal, recording and performing, the cornerstones of a musical community.
