Wishbone by Wishbone
Wishbone is a hard-hitting NJ psychedelic funk group presenting its first full-length album. Self-titled Wishbone, its lyrics explore self-doubt, truth, and existentialism wrapped in eclectic grooves highlighting each member’s virtuosic background. Drawing on soul, R&B, and funk classics, lead singer Nick Nella delivers a dynamic performance ranging from in-your-face falsetto on “The Bush” to subtle crooning on “Denial” over George Benson-level guitar playing. Bassist Mike Bereski provides tasteful and driving lines and licks, complemented by fill-master drummer Liam Kerekes and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Pesola’s top-notch keyboard. Formed at William Paterson University in 2018, Wishbone’s music encapsulates the duality of living just outside but within reach of New York City.
