Microcosmic Delineation by Zach Curley

The type of music on this album is something that I was called to do, since it did not previously exist and it is something that I wanted to hear. Some adjectives I can use to describe it would be: exotic, atmospheric and pleasant. I am using different tuning systems than what is standardized in the west post baroque era. If you're familiar with Indonesian gamelan, Thai piphat, Georgian polyphony, and perhaps Persian music, you may hear similarities. However, this is a completely different medium of expression since it's instrumental guitar music. My influences are diverse and eclectic, in addition to the aforementioned genres, I consider Allan Holdsworth, John Mclaughlin, Robbie Basho, Phi Yan-Zek, Steve Vai, Ali Akbar Khan, Scott McGill, Dan Stearns, birdsong, nature and life itself as influences and inspiration. Above all, I believe this album to be good music that I consider to be sacred like a child that I brought into the world, you cannot put a price on that. Music in it's purest form is a means of universal communication that emanates directly from the soul.
