Koleiny by Zdrój
Zdrój is a Polish/Dutch improv duo from Wrocław that is an active part of Salka, an ever-evolving community of musicians (Kurws, Ukryte Zalety Systemu, Przepych, Atol Atol Atol).
After releasing a self-titled debut in 2022, Zdrój now returns with their second album “Koleiny” (CD via Fonoradar Records, cassette via Syf Records). Where the first album was the result of a studio session, the tracks on this album are based on fully improvised recordings that were captured live at various shows during the European tour that Zdrój did with Kurws in the autumn of 2022.
The new album sees the band explore instrumental post-punk with elements of krautrock, noise, and even a hint of EBM, all while maintaining their position that free improvisation is an approach rather than a framed musical genre.
