Wild

When I was a boy, at just about 3
My folks saw something strange in me
Every kind of bug I could find
Was really cool in my young mind

As years went by, this just expanded
To mice, crawdads, and snakes all banded
What freaked out everybody else
To me was just nature's wealth

You don’t really know of boyhood glee

(it was more like 33, but don't tell my mom and dad)

Now all grown up and I've become a man
I still like catch critters if I can
And even if it’s not for all
When I’m with creatures it’s a ball

When you give them to your closest friends
It usually means that friendship ends

I now have three snakes, one called Grace
And they all have the run of the place

Now you may think that this is so wild
I still like what I did as a child
But it all worked out pretty well for me
Now I work in biology

It often means the friendship ends
And I lost a lot of friends, but I gained some new ones too
And they were all wild...
