Industrialized 80s takes a blowtorch to nostalgia.
What began as a tribute became a full-scale sonic reconstruction—turning synthpop polish into warehouse rust, and neon dreams into cold steel rhythms. This release isn’t about 80s revival. It’s about dragging the decade through a dystopian machine hall where nothing leaves unscarred.
Depeche Mode gets rebuilt from the circuitry up, with New Dress, Never Let Me Down Again, and World Full of Nothing sounding less like melancholy gods and more like they’ve fused with broken hardware. Elsewhere, Two Tribes becomes a Cold War demolition anthem, and Dancing Girls is stripped of its funk and dropped into a pressure chamber.
There’s no safe nostalgia here—just industrial heat, rhythmic decay, and the constant question of whether any of it is still human underneath.
Less hairspray. More distortion.
Distortion is not a flaw. It’s the point.
