Sunwheel
Fire is associated with the sun.

Sunwheel is the design of a sundial in a ray of light of musical events.
Two stories were told on 7th of August 1992 in the observatory of
Robert Morris in Lelystad (Netherlands) and on 25th of September 1994 in Masada (Israel) in 18 hours each.

Sunwheel began and ended with the sunrise and sunset.
In periods of a maximum of one hour each compositions, radio plays,
sound environments, performances and a movie took place.
Themes such as solar radiation, sun worship, sun glow, dryness,
sun-fire-water, solar eruptions were presented associatively,
but also informatively, but not in the sense of program music.

The Sunwheel-music was created in collaboration with the three
musicians Kurt Dahlke, Michael Fahres and Michael Jüllich.
The “Bianco” drum, made of marble and the gong drum “Big Mama”
were played by Michael Jüllich.

Electronic and natural sounds, composed, improvised, influenced
by the intensity of the light or the passing traffic, set the wheel
in an octophonic motion and turned it and spun it like
a musical firework.
