South Shore is a collaboration of two St. Croix friends, Jeff Tareila and David Crowther. Creating songs and music influenced by living the “no hurry no worry laid back easy life” on the extraordinary shores of the US Virgin Islands. During the pandemic of 2020, Jeff and Dave combined efforts in their love of songwriting and recording immediately tapping into a groove producing three new tunes. South Shore is proud to release this 3 song EP. The first tune, Johnny Cake, a rollicking island R&B tinged song about young love and a hot kitchen baking up island treats! Johnny Cake features legendary keyboard player John “JT” Thomas (Tracy Chapman, Bruce Hornsby) and drummer Chad Wright (Chaka Khan, Bruce Hornsby). The second tune, Freedom, featuring St. Croix legends Laurent “Tippy” Alfred and Padraic Coursey, is a reggae tune about the freedom one feels from the love and trust of an incredibly spectacular and diverse island culture and community. The final tune, Beautiful Life, is a snapshot of a birthday, the Caribbean Sea, and a car trip. South Shore welcomes you to enjoy these tunes with a rum punch in the shade!
