Marionette from Denouement by Sift

An almost blues feel underneath this straight-forward dark rock track. Elyse Smith does a wonderful job of capturing the desperation, hopelessness, and acceptance of realizing it's too late to escape, too tired to flee, just a marionette with strings controlling me.

Sift was formed as Speeny Bowl Wagon in 1991 in Boston, MA.

Their sound incorporates a mix of influences including 70's prog rock, 80's metal & darkwave, 90's alternative/indie & ambient, and 00's post rock.

Many, shows, demos, albums and members later, the band is now based in Greensboro, NC and is currently working on their fifth full-length release.
